Inside My Mind #3

  • Today is Labour Monday in New Zealand yet for some reason I offered to do a ten hour shift instead of enjoy the sunshine. Crazy but just keeping the idea of the money in my mind.
  • Also Christmas is not far away (57 Days according to Christmas clock) and I am 80% excited and 20% terrified at how behind I am. 57 days seems like heaps of time but then I find out that people have already finished their shopping.

  • I have been trialling out Lush’s Dream Cream and I think I might be in love. It isn’t cheap so I am reluctant to shell out on the full tub but I know it will last ages and my skin seems to kind of love it. I also smelt the Snow Fairy shower gel that EVERYONE raves about and I couldn’t stand it…It is SO sweet. I much prefer the new rose jam scent. I must be crazy.
  • Edd sent me this link the other day. Unlikely animal friendships just make me happy.
  • Went to Barillia on the weekend so Mr 12 could experience thier dumplings. Was so excited to try the pork and chive dumplings which everyone raved about but unfortunately every single dumpling had an unexplainable big piece of prawn inside (which being allergic to seafood meant I couldn’t eat). I would still go back in a heartbeat but will have to be super careful in case something like that happens again.
  • I am about to start reading Allegiant and I am very excited. It must be the first time in ages I have bought a physical book from book shop full price (and not just the $2 books at opshops).
  • I am also currently reading The Magic (part of The Secret series) and although it is 80% cringeworthy I am hopeful that the remaining 20% will be useful in making me more grateful for what I have.
  • I am planning to start experimenting in cutting out certain food groups (e.g. doing a month gluten free) and seeing how it affects my skin as well as overall health. I think I will try cutting out gluten first of all so any tips on coping without wheat are very welcome.
  • Edd and I are about halfway through Breaking Bad’s final season and it is so intense! I feel like I am holding my breath for the whole episode. I will almost be relieved once it is all over I think.

  • On less trendy tv show news I am officially addicted to Beverly Hills Nannies. It is sad and shameful but I thought I should just come out and admit it to you all. It reminds me of being a Nanny but is 100% more glamorous and way more social than my Nannying ever was. I knew I was a sucker for reality tv but I didn’t know it was this bad. Is there some kind of terrible tv rehab because I think I may need it.
  • I can’t wait for this day to be over so I can go home and sleep. Happy Monday everyone!

October Sample Bar Glam Pack

Hi all!
So on this Thursday after a day off work due to relentless migraines/headaches I feel a little like the guy below but don’t look quite so cute. The beginning of this week was less grim with the Auckland book launch for Laura’s amazing cookbook. Meeting her was awesome and spending the subsequent evenings pouring over her cookbook was great. If you haven’t checked out her blog or her cookbook, hungry and frozen,  then do!

1385277_530441840380112_1491015162_n

Today I also bring you my October glam pack from Sample Bar and the goodies inside. This month’s box came a week or so ago so I am a little delayed but better late then never. This month’s box was actually pretty great and well worth the $25.

DSC_34991. Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser by Essano. I received two 30mL bottles of this soap-free cleanser which contains rosehip oil and other nice and natural ingredients to both cleanse and moisturize the skin without drying it out. I have high hopes for this and am thinking that due to the oils and the natural ingredients it won’t irritate my sensitive skin but I will have to just wait and see. The smell is strange and sweet but not in an unpleasant way, just not what I expected. A full size 140mL will cost you a pretty reasonable $14.99 and can be found at supermarkets which is pretty handy.

2. Dots Laundry Powder. So before we get annoyed that they sent us a washing powder in a beauty sample pack this was a bonus product, so not a part of the 5 proper makeup/beauty samples. Am I super excited by this….no, but it might come in handy. The price for the normal packs range from $6.99-$13.99 at supermarkets.

3, Youngblood Vixen mini lipstick. I love the idea of mini lipsticks so to get a beautiful red one that I can keep in my purse if I decide to pop on a red lip half way through the day of after work before going out is great! This is a blend of natural oils and vitamins which sounds good and is a beautiful true red that is sort of matte. A great product for a sample box in my opinion. These retail for $43.50 for a full size which is pretty expensive for my little wallet.

4. Matte Eyeshadow by Couleur Caramel. Another awesome product this month was this matte eyeshadow that is a beautiful light natural brown colour that would make a great base shadow. Doesn’t seem super pigmented but is buttery and the colour is one I know I will use often. I don’t know how much these eyeshadows retail for but their range of products ranges from $20-$50 approx. I would love to see what some of their other vegan, cruelty free products are like. All of their makeup is also chemical free (not sure how that works) and fair trade. The recyclable packaging is great too!

5. Angel Orange Flower Shampoo and Hairmask. I have never heard of this hair brand (but that isn’t saying much, hair care is not my strength) but am looking forward to trying out these two products. Only downside is that they are for coloured hair so I may have to wait until I have a colour to try and lock in. I hope they smell good… These are $39 each.

6. Pure Fiji Hydrating Guava Body Lotion. Last up we received a small sample of a body lotion from Pure Fiji which is a brand I adore. The best thing about this is the amazing scent which I love about any of these Fijian products. The guava and coconut are a beautiful combination and this will be great as a moisturizer to keep in my handbag for any dryness. The full size moisturizer is $350mL and will cost you $49 which could potentially be worth it just because it smells divine. Yum.

So all up one of my favourite boxes and what I wish every month was more like. A great range of different products and most of them well suited for me.

Hope you guys are having a great week! I shall leave you with a photo of Callie who was pretty interested in what we were doing and wanted to do some modelling of her own. Such a beautiful girl and who doesn’t love a little chiaroscuro.

September’s Glam Pack by Sample Bar

Hi All!

Yay for Tuesday…. Or not. Who knows, Tuesday’s are a bit random. Last night I had a lovely time at the Miss Career launch which I was invited to by a lovely friend. Lets just say there was a candy bar and a goody bag. With tea. Yup, I had a good Monday. Right now I am drinking (or rather eating with a spoon when no one is looking) some Turkish apple tea and catching up on Australia’s next top model (a guilty pleasure). Hope you guys are all having a lovely week too!
Today I am showing you a very late Sample Bar Glam Pack. I haven’t posted about the last couple of boxes and to be honest there was nothing to rave or write home about. September’s box was not a bad box and was themed around Spring and the change in season. So lets just see what was included!

DSC_18511. Evolu Protective Day Cream: This may be my favourite product this month and is the only one I have already got stuck into using pretty much daily. It is slightly fragrant but not too much so. It has SPF 15 which is great for Spring where there is a bit of sun around and about. Its also rich but not enough to be annoying for a day cream and works perfectly for my dry skin. The full size of this is 75mL and is a whopping $54.99. I have a sad feeling that once my sample runs out that will probably be it for me and evolu.

2. Maybelline BB Cream: I have been very keen to try the new BB creams by Maybelline and so was happy to receive 7 sample sachets. What was a little frustrating is that the 7 samples we received were for the normal BB cream with Salicylic acid which is pretty useless for me and my sensitive dry skin. If they were sending a number of sachets I am not sure why they didn’t include both this formula and their dry skin formula. I will definitely try this but would have preferred the one more suited to my skin tone (which was specified on their website and so is part of my beauty profile). This is a reasonable $19.99 for 30mL.

3. Nimue Purifier: This thing looked cute but to begin with I had no idea what it was. I’m still not 100% sure but it says something along the lines of a day or night product that can be used o reduce oiliness for cleansing the skin. Again considering my skin is anything but oily I am unsure how useful this will be for me personally. Its a pretty high end product coming in at $81.00 for a 50mL size product.

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo: I hear so much about dry shampoo and yet have never branched into this area of hair care. My hair isn’t oily and lasts really well between washes so I wasn’t super desperate but will definitely try this handy handbag sized sample out and if I like it purchase the one specific for brown hair. The price for this ranges from $7.99 to $15.99 depending on size.

5. Yon-Ka Ultra Protection SPF 20 Sunscreen: Next up we received a 5mL sample of this anti-aging sunscreen. I am always happy to try new sunscreens and was intrigued by this brand I have never heard of. The packaging of the sample looks a little like medicine/ointment but I have tried this out to see what it was like. The formula was thick and a greyish white tone which makes it feel like an effective sunscreen. Although it was thick it wasn’t uncomfortably thick once it settled into the skin. What I found the most off putting about this product was the intense lavender scent. Now I am a big fan of lavender unlike a lot of people I know but to me it is more of a night time scent and not something I would slather on before a work day or a day at the beach. Strange. This sunscreen is $49.90 for 50mL. I think I would stick with my trusty Neutrogena.

6. Broadway Real Life Nails: Last up and worst of all is this last product. I don’t even want to talk about it because I would never wear them and I wish I had gotten pretty much anything else. These are fake, self-sticking nails and although I have nothing against fake nails I would never wear them and if I did they would be coloured, not cheap looking french tips. Yuck. Not a fan and don’t think I could even pass these off to a friend. These are an overpriced $21.99.

DSC_1840

So there were a couple of products here I will try but all in all Samplebar disappointed in terms of paying attention to our personal beauty quizzes that you can do on the website and sent me too many products that just don’t match my profile. If you don’t want to personalize the boxes then don’t ask for people to give you the information. Do I sound bitter? Oops. I plan to stop my boxes after October so lets hope we end on a high!

Did any of you receive a box this month? Did you get the same things and how did you find it?

Xx

August Favourites

Hi All,DSC_1371

So August has been an interesting month for me. I have had a lot of troubles with my sensitive skin which resulted in me completely retreating into a ball of insecurity but its getting better (with help, thank goodness) and slowly things are returning back to normal. Because of my skin being a pain in the … makeup has basically taken a back seat whilst I tried to avoid using anything that could irritate my skin. Nevertheless I have a few beauty related favourites and then a few other random things as well.

1. EOS lip balm in Summer Fruits. Mum brought this back from the US for me (YAY!) and it has been my main lip product all month. The scent/taste of this is my favourite so far, tropical and delicious, and I do find these moisturize and hydrate really well. In my opinion they are better that baby lips for actual hydration, I only wish these were more readily available here in New Zealand :(

2. Australis Go Longwear Lipstick in Diva: Probably the only lipstick I have reached for this month on the odd occasion I wanted something more than a balm was this beauty from the new long wearing range by Australis. I have a full review of the three shades in this range coming up in the future but this is a beautiful, bright, true red matte that is flattering and doesn’t dry out my lips. Also lasts well which is a big plus for me.

DSC_1382

3. Thin Lizzy Mineral Foundation in … So I avoided most makeup this month but there was the odd occasionytg where I wanted to look presentable and needed some sort of coverage for my red, angry, dry skin. I would have thought this powder wouldn’t have worked that great, just because my skin was so dry, but somehow it worked better than any cream foundation to give me a natural, even colour without any irritation at all or any flaking. It is now my default foundation just because I love the finish and I can trust it won’t set my skin off. Around $40 from farmers I think but a little goes a long way and I feel like this will last me a  while.

4. Nivea sensitive foaming wash: Okay, so I am sure you are sick of hearing about my skin issues but it has basically defined my month and this body wash was kind of a life saver. This thing is JUMBO and was only $8 or so from the Supermarket. I love it not just because it is cheap but because it is so gentle that my skin doesn’t react at all and yet it still does an awesome job of lathering and cleaning (which I guess is the main point). Will definitely repurchase this if I ever run out.

5. Essie Merino Cool: This has just been the perfect nail colour for the season. A dusty purple taupe that is sophisticated and appropriate for work. A cream formula but sometimes I do pair this with a rose pink glitter (see below)…I just can’t resist an accent nail. Speaking of nail polish who else is excited for Spring colours?? ALL THE PASTELS.

6. Essie A Cut Above: This is one of my all time favourite glitters that I add to pretty much any manicure but I especially enjoyed this in combination with Merino Cool. This has such a nice even formula for a glitter that I don’t feel like I have to mess around with it. And it’s gorgeous.

DSC_1378

That’s it for beauty! But moving on….

TV show: The Mentalist – Edd and I have been powering our way through every season and I may die when we run out. I just love Patrick so much.

Tea: Peppermint leaves with Ceylon Cinnamon by Dilmah (read more here – this tea is perfection for only $4, I’m in love)

Accessory: My burgundy circle scarf from Cotton On. I think I got this cheap with other purchases but I wear this almost every day. Perfect colour for winter and super snuggly.

Food: Haloumi cheese. We bought some from the Auckland Food Show and I have been craving it every day ever since. This with hummus on crackers makes for a perfect post gym snack.

Random Buy: Our new DSLR camera!! Edd is already a pro whilst I still forget to remove the cap and then wonder why I can’t see anything…

What have you been loving in the past month?

Xx

Coming up next: Only one album has stood out in the past couple of months and I am OBSESSED.

SampleBar Glam Pack for June

Hi All!

Hope everyone in the southern hemisphere is surviving the freezing weather at the moment!! I am combating the cold weather with slow cooked curries. Last month my Sample bar box may have not been posted….sorry! It was a fine box but I wasn’t super excited and was rather busy. Having said that (spoiler alert) this month wasn’t super amazing either. Having said that let me show you what was included this month.

So this month’s theme was Winter Rescue (and boy do I need it) and fittingly, the first thing that fell out of the box was this recipe for a Gingerbread sticky toffee pudding (which is one of my favorite deserts ever…Pretty keen to try it out!). I kindly included a photo of the recipe so you can all try it! Let me know if you do :)
20130624-190644.jpg

20130624-190744.jpg
On to the actual products, the first TLC product I saw was what looked like another travel tower of skin care. Although the idea is awesome, I don’t go travelling much (I wish) so I wasn’t super excited. Having said that it is still a great way to sample a line of skin care from a brand I have never heard before. This brand is Moreish and the tower includes day cream, night cream, eye cream and salvation balm. Straight up, I have tried all 4 and am rather impressed. This is another New Zealand brand that uses argan oil and local ingredients to create skin care that is perfect for winter. The full size of these products range from $24.99 to 34.99 and can be found at mot pharmacies.

Next up was a 50mL sample of Joico K-PAK Reconstruct for damaged hair. I am not big on hair care, I probably should be but I am not. I don’t get excited about hair samples and have no idea about most haircare brands so hopefully this one is a winner. This sample is a decent size (full size is 150mL, $32.00) so hopefully I can get a good feel for how well this strengthens my hair.

The only full size product was a Natural Glow Luscious Lips Shimmer Gloss in the shade Sugar Rose. First up, this brand feels really outdated to me… I was pretty unimpressed to be honest as I have grown to expect lots of trendy new brands and products whilst this lip gloss feels like they are trying to get rid of stock…The lip gloss itself is pretty average. The colour looks okay, a mid-toned pink however it’s a little frosty and glittery for me. The only positive to this lip gloss is the smell of cake batter which is definitely pleasant. Not a big winner for me sadly and at $25.00 from the Samplebar website I won’t be rushing to buy more.

20130624-190837.jpg

Okay last up in terms of “real” products is a set of 4 sachet samples for the DermaLab skin care range. This range is affordable ($14.99-20.99) and another line from a New Zealand brand including nice stuff like Manuka Honey. I received 4 of their 5 products in their rescue regime. This included the cleanser, moituriser, shampoo and conditioner. All of these are great for sensitive and dry skin (which sums up my skin, especially in winter). As happy as I am trying out more skincare I feel like maybe one brand being featured with 4 products would have been enough and maybe something different would have been more interesting. I’m also not a fan of sachet samples as you only get one or two uses and they are a bit of a pain. Oh well.

So the very last “product” was a sample bar eye mask….Not super exciting but I guess il try using it. Apparently retails for $6.00 but to me this felt like an extra and didn’t contribute much to the box.

So that was kind of negative….It wasn’t a terrible box…I liked the skin care sample tower and the Joico hair reconstructor might be good but all in all this is my least favorite SampleBar box so far. Too much skin care, crappy full size lip gloss and just overall pretty meh. Sorry if this sounds a bit whingey! I am still a fan of SampleBar and hopeful that next month brings a more fulfilling box. If you are a subscriber please let me know how you felt about the products you received this month! Check out the SampleBar website to learn more.

See you soon with a hopefully happier post!

Torn over a Night Cream: Product review

Hi all!

Today I bring you my thoughts on a night cream I have been trialling over the last couple of weeks. This night repair cream by geoskincare was a full size product I received in a SampleBar a couple of months ago and I was excited to give it a go. Being described as moisture rich and highly hydrating I saved this for winter when my sensitive dry skin freaks out and rebels against me. So how did this night cream fare against my challenging skin type?

20130617-220158.jpg

The Pros
This cream doesn’t lie. It delivers great moisture and hydration in a rather unique formula that is thick an deeply moisturising without being greasy or leaving an unpleasant residue.
This night cream worked wonders on my skin and turned it from dry and irritated to soft and hydrated. Needless to say I was happily surprised that it worked so great, so quickly.
I also love that is brand is local and certified organic, paraben free and not tested on animals, all big ticks in my book.

The Cons
Okay so this review started with me stating I was torn in the title so it can’t all be amazing. I have two issues with this night cream that prevent me from denying my everlasting, undying love for it. First off, and most strangely, is the fact this night cream really irritates my eyes. It has a strong smell which I don’t mind but I feel like perhaps whatever natural fragrances create that aroma may be what is irritating my eyes if it gets too close. I have to be careful when applying it to avoid half an hour of continuous whining. The first time this happened I was was rather shocked as night creams don’t normally have this affect…I also know I’m not the only one this happened to so it worries me slightly that I can’t figure out what causes it.
The only other negative for this product is the price (being the tight, cheap ex-student that I am). $43.92 is more than I would generally pay for a night cream however it could be worse.

The Final Verdict
All in all if price was the only negative, this may have become a new holy grail part of my everyday routine. As it stands, due to weird sensitivity issues, I do hesitate in forking out the $44. Have said that, once this 50mL tube is finished I will find it hard to return to my $10 supermarket
night creams…and if I have a weak moment this may end up being repurchased due to it’s pretty incredible skills at fighting the negative effects winter has on my poor face.

Have any of you tried this night cream?

Friday’s Letters: Pull it together

20130531-223942.jpg

Dear Body: Please pull yourself together. I simply do not have the time or energy for being sick. If I start treating you a little better can you please behave and not be so difficult? That would be really cool… Dear Electricity: I forget how much I need you and then we spend a whole night without power…that was fun. Thank god for all the random candles around the place that I keep buying and never using. Dear Callie: In this freezing weather your 5am cuddles are only slightly annoying and mainly just warm and comforting. Carry on. Also I am glad your meow has magically returned…that was weird. Dear $3 beers: You make it extremely hard to stay sensible at work drinks. Dear Edd: Your lemon and honey’s are the best. This is why I married you. (Okay so there may have been a couple other reasons as well). Still not sure why you married me though haha. Dear Amazing Race: Thanks for making my day off work slightly less unpleasant. I was sad when my favorite team left though :( Dear My Kitchen Rules: Speaking of reality tv, what the heck am I to do when your grand finale finishes on Monday and I am left with no tv show to make the first three days of the week slightly bearable? You can’t take over our TVs for what feels like a year and then just up and leave…seems a little selfish if you ask me. Dear Strawberry Pavlova: You are rather delicious. Welcome to the tea family. Dear Auckland: Sometimes I forget how lovely this little big city really is. I must make more of effort to truly explore and enjoy you. However your random cold snap was a bit of a shock to the system…a bit of warning is all I ask for.

Tuesday Top 10: Benefit Products on my Wishlist!

Hi all!

Happy Tuesday! Recently Benefit announced on Twitter and other Social Media that they are planning to launch in New Zealand in the very near future. For a country that suffers from a severe lack in certain awesome makeup and beauty brands this news was very well received. I have constantly heard amazing things about a lot of their products but I have never been able to try them. Once I knew they were coming down under a shopping list began forming in my mind, it wasn’t even a conscious thought to put together this list, it just happened! So I figured I might as well make a post about ten of the products I am most excited to try out once they launch. Can I quickly add that I ADORE Benefit packaging, everything is so cute and interesting.

20130422-172450.jpg

1. They’re real! Mascara
This mascara has to be one of the most talked about mascaras. People seem to love it and it seems to have made its way into many holy grail lists. I love a good mascara and have yet to find my mascara soul mate-could this be it?!

2. High Beam
One of the many gorgeous highlighters offered by Benefit. I wasn’t sure which to choose as my preferred highlighter (highlighter is one of those products I know very little about) but this and sun beam both looked amazing. This cool champagne is probably better suited in terms of my deathly fair complexion.

3. Coralista Box Blush
Ugh these box blushes look amazing and from the look of swatches online I could have included a
lot more on my wishlist (I’m looking at you dandelion and hervana!). This one is top of the list because it is a gorgeous pink coral which looks gorgeous on SO many people I have high hopes for our future relationship.

4. Poisetint
Another product I love the idea of are the lip and cheek tints by Benefit. I love the look of the bene-tint as well but this lighter pink looks a little less scary and from online reviews seems to be a bit easier to use.

5. Hoola Box Bronzer
Not much to say about this except that this looks like a gorgeous, matte Bronzer.

 20130422-171807.jpg

6. Longwear powder eye shadows in Nude swing & Thanks a latte
The new line of shadows released recently look amazing and I would happily buy 90% of them. These two are my favourites, with a beautiful rose gold shimmer and then a lovely dark golden brown.

7. The Pore-fessional
A primer/BB cream extraordinaire!! This apparently is great at minimising the appearance of pores, smoothing and also providing some coverage to even out skin tone. Sound like a wonder product.

8. Boi-ing concealer
An industrial strength concealer, industrial!! Sounds pretty awesome to me. Comparable to mac studio fx concealer apparently.

9. Brow zings brow shaping kit
I need to find a good brow kit so this wax/powder combo had to be included on my wishlist.

10. Something about Sofia fragrance

Obviously I hang actually smelt any of these but based on online descriptions this fragrance with an interesting combo of fruity, floral and musky vanilla scents I would love to give this one a shot! I have to say that there are at least 3 others that also sound amazing!!

Well , there’s a very non-exhaustive list of some benefit products I will eyeing up once they reach our shores!! Please let me know what you think about any of these products and whether there is anything I am missing :) If you are in NZ and want to keep up with Benefit ad their launch follow them on twitter @BenefitNZ for all the updates.

P.s. this post wasn’t sponsored or influenced by Benefit or any other company and is just the rambling of one rather excited kiwi!

April’s SampleBar Glam Pack

Hi all!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Here in NZ the weather has lost its marbles (don’t be alarmed, this is a frequent occurrence) and has been literally moving from beautiful sunshine to thunder and downpours in 5 minutes. Wish I was exaggerating. This led to me running in and out every few minutes to try and decide how I should dry my washing. Yay.

Anyway, here is this month’s Sample Bar Glam Pack (obviously I failed to cancel my subscription again ._.). I was very happy to see this month taking on an Eco-Chic theme in their set of products focusing on eco-friendly,  natural treats. Here’s what I got this month!

20130417-164547.jpg

1. Evolu travel tower
This skin care travel kit tower is an awesome idea from a brand I’ve never heard of before. Includes creme cleanser, facial exfoliator, firming eye cream, anti ageing day cream, rehydrating facial masque and anti ageing overnight cream. The idea is that this compact little tower can be taken when away for a night or two and your skin care routine is covered! Refillable and reusable these have me very exciting!
The full size of this includes three of these travel towers for $65 (ouch) but a $20 discount e-coupon was included to ease the pain.

2. Anitpodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream
Antipodes is a brand I love but this tiny sachet is no where near enough to decide how I feel about a night cream. I would have been much happier with a proper little pot as we have had before. Having said that, this night cream sounds amazing with avocado and calendula oil, manuka honey and vinanza grape (what?) thrown in for good measure. Would have loved a proper sample of this.
A full size of this night cream is $62.50 so a little out of my price range.

3. Sorbet Shampoo Bar
This month we were given one solid shampoo bar made with 100% biodegradable ingredients and natural extracts. I am excited to try this out as I haven’t tried out a solid shampoo yet and I am curious as to how it works. It’s also excellent because its completely cruelty free which is always good to see. I don’t think the bar we got is the free size but this isn’t indicated on the packaging (annoyingly).
Full size bars are $22 (95g) and again we have a code to get a 15% discount which is nice.

4. Perfumie in Verbena Bamboo
Perhaps one of my favorite products in this month’s box is this little solid perfume stick which are convenient for shoving in one’s handbag and are full of natural ingredients. The fragrance I got (Verbena Bamboo) is really lovely, fresh and grassy (in a nice way..). I don’t think the scent lasts particularly long unfortunately but I haven’t used it much so might be wrong.
These are full size and cost $10.95

5. Pharo Microfibre Exfoliating Cloth
The other ‘full size’ product in this month’s box was this exfoliating cloth that is apparently reusable. A full size duo pack of these costs $11.95 which seems quite fair. Also, this product came with a $10 discount  voucher for a sugaring treatment (I believe some form of hair removal…). Meh, I quite like this (but will never use the voucher, as usual).

Well that’s it for this week! I would have LOVED this box if the night cream was full size but as it is, it was kind of average, with no makeup products and some disappointing sizes. The theme of this I adored so I wish the box had lived up to all my (potentially unreasonable) expectations. Still, I am not dissapointed I forgot to cancel my subscription and have yet again been introduced to some interesting and eco-friendly brands. Oh and I almost forgot that Sample Bar included an Easter themed choc bunny that barely made it into this photo. Having to wait 5 minutes to consume chocolate is not one of my skills.

Let me know what you thought of this month’s box!

Friday’s Letters: A lack of foxes

20130322-115003.jpg

Dear Callie: I love but sometimes your a bit creepy. Like when I wake up to you staring at me on my shoulder… Dear Mum: It is always so lovely to see you for lunch and much needed catch-ups. I love that you and me are like best friends and that we can both off load on to each other! Dear Summer: We get it. You were great this year but I actually wouldn’t mind if it cooled down a little more so I can start wearing fox jumpers again. I know I will regret saying this when it rains every day and I long for your sunshine but right now I just want to wear autumn nail polish! Dear Self: We have to get back into a better gym/healthy eating routine ASAP! It’s hard with a new job and unpredictable hours but its up to us to make time and strop procrastinating. Dear Universe: Thank you for giving me such kind and generous friends! Dear New Zealand: Why no foxes?! I would live here forever if it wasn’t for a blatant lack of bushy red tails. Kiwis and Tuataras aren’t quite the same thing. Dear Edd: This year is pretty exciting in terms of our holiday that awaits us at the end of it! I can’t wait to spend two months exploring the UK and Europe with you. Until then it means spending nights apart while I do night shifts and that kind of sucks :( But we have the rest of our lives together so we’ll cope! Dear iPad (mini): I want you but I don’t really want your price tag. But more importantly I want you. Dear Mr 11: Have fun at camp! It was always the highlight of school for me and I know you will have an awesome time.
