September Beauty Favorites

Hi All!

So September has come around way way too quick for my liking and the fact that I now need to do my favorites has made me realize the impossible amount of work and planning I have to do. Someone pause the clock for me so I can actually catch up with life!  Anywho, as usual there are a few products that have been used almost every day this month and that I thought I would share with all you lovely people!

1. MAC Cremesheen in Speak Loouder

Sorry for the terrible photos by the way! As usual I left it until the last moment to do favorite’s photos and had to use an artificial light that was not hugely useful. This was my first ever MAC lipstick that I purchased right at the end of August and have been loving all month! I love a bright pink lipstick and this blue-toned pink is also very flattering. The application is easy and feels moisturizing on the lips and lasts through the day and eating much better than I expected! A great, solid lipstick that I can wear all the time. These are $40 at NZ MAC stores.

2. Maybelline Dream Mousse Eye Shadow in Suede Sensation

Haven’t used any new eye products much this month however this is a product I had ages ago that got lost in the excitement of new products and came back out as a reached for product this month. I love the neutral colour on my lids underneath a smoky neutral eye or (more commonly) just by itself! The mousse has a bit of shimmer which brings some nice light to the eyes. The actual product itself is moussey in texture (obviously) however I don’t find it the easiest to apply evenly. Despite the extra effort in application the colour is beautiful enough to use. Can’t remember the cost and don’t know if these are still available sorry!

3. Australis Colour Inject Lipstick in Salsa

So I tried Australis lipsticks for the first time thanks to Michelle’s favorites from last month which you can visit by clicking right HERE! This lipstick is a beautiful coral pink that for its modest price tag has great pigmentation and applied so smooth and easily. A great lipstick when I didn’t want a flat-out pink like Speak Louder. Very impressed with this Australian makeup company! These are available at shops like Farmers and Kmart but not sure of the pricing.

Here is a comparison between MAC Speak Louder (bottom) and Australis Salsa (top) to show that they aren’t they same (the photos make them look much more similar than they are in reality).

4. Garnier Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes

I know, such a boring product but this is the lazy woman’s must have. I admit, I am terrible at doing a full face wash etc at night when I’m tired and cold. These wipes are great for these days and let me remove a full face of makeup whist not irritating my gentle skin. Their cheap price tag doesn’t hurt either. You can buy these pretty much anywhere and cost about $10.

5. EOS Lip Balms in Strawberry Sorbet and Passion Fruit

I received these from a blog sale that one of my favorite beauty bloggers was having (visit her blog sale right HERE) and to be honest wanted them cause they were cute and didn’t expect much of them after reading some pretty average reviews. What I love about these is the amazingly delicious smells as well as their “feel”. They apply in quite a thin layer and so might not seem as moisturizing as other lip balms however after using this for a couple of days I realized that for me they still kept my lips hydrated. The great thing is that their thin layer means I can apply lipstick upon them which I find more annoying with the thicker lip products. These are now my go-to lip balms when I am applying lipstick on top. Sadly these aren’t available in NZ but can probably be found in various placed online.

6. Badger Balm for Hardworking Hands

This has been my go-to hand product this month and the reason that this tin looks unused is because it is my backup! I have decimated my other one to the point where it is embarrassing haha. I got this to try after loving this brand’s cuticle oil which comes in a very similar tin form. At first the balm is hard to get out but after a bit of use the product becomes more malleable and transfers easier onto fingers. This is an oily product so is best for when you have a good few minutes to let the product sink in and do its work. I love this for any dry or chapped skin. Works like a treat! This is $10.95 and can be found at Farmers.

7. OPI Nail Lacquer in Malaga Wine

So last off there is of course a favorite nail polish! This nail polish is my main vampy red that looks like a deep berry in the light and a dark brown burgundy in the shade. I know this is a favorite because it was reapplied several times this month and this is not a  common occurrence for any of my nail polishes.I think I am loving this at the moment because it is officially Spring and yet I am not quite ready to let go of my autumn/winter colours!! This is part of their permanent line at Farmers NZ.

So that’s it for this month. Let me know what you are all loving this month or leave me the links to your favorite’s post if you have one!

These all look so lovely! I’m scared of lipstick so I usually avoid it, but I’d love to find just the right color someday. Maybe once I grow up 😉
